Video player

Accessibility

VideoPlayer names its group with copy.label. Every control takes its name from copy. A glyph is decorative beside that name.
Keyboard
  • Tab reaches the picture, then each control in the bar.
  • On the picture, Space and Enter toggle playback, Left and Right seek five seconds, and M toggles mute.
  • F toggles fullscreen when fullscreen is set.
  • Space on the seek slider toggles playback. Arrow keys on the slider follow the Slider keyboard contract.
  • Volume is a button that opens a vertical slider in a popover. Mute is a separate button.
Blur
While the frame is blurred, snapshot and Picture-in-Picture remain buttons and expose copy.snapshotUnavailable and copy.pictureInPictureUnavailable. They are disabled.
Captions
Pass tracks. Cue text uses the caption type role. The player does not invent a transcript.
Reduced motion
Control transitions follow the motion tokens. Playback and autoPlay do not change.
